mine didnt match the picture, i got a darker handle wrap, and the blade is black, except where its sharpend, so that kinda matches, but it looks great and feels Very solid. I just got it today and i have to say that this is one of the coolest swords ever made. I purchased my sword from Bud K when it was first offered. This is a very cool sword. !theres only two problems that i have(not major though)
1. As a wall hanger sword it will suffice, but for anything more robust or intimidating than a piece of wood as thick as a six year old's wrist, you are out of luck. It was still able to cleave most of the way through the box it came in and it cut through a water bottle with no issue. I buy swords and other weapons often enough to say that this is crap. The blade is not as detailed as shown with the pictures. If I need a quick sword for defense I would grab this club of metal. Mine is far from sharp, almost dull. jawz, veary nice sword heavy just straight bad ass best sword i bought yet. The only complaint I have is that the sword isn't full tang, but I suppose you can't expect that from a $30 sword. Then the guard came loose and the pommel. I'm sure you could probably put a better edge on it with a machine wheeled grinder. I would recommend to all collectors/warriors. Its better then nothing if a puma or bear comes up on me?lol But as adcertised and its awesome! i cant wait to sharpen this thing up to see what its actually capable of :D. I just had this sword delivered.
Needs a Shieth tho. The video shown was very accurate. But that really didn't matter because I use it for display, but if it was sharp it would be way cooler. well constructed and real leather, it fits perfect. Sad face. Granted, I put this thing through hell, but the bottom of the handle guard came off, and soon after the bolt that holds the handle sheered off. The handle is the biggest piece of junk.The bottom guard was loose so I tried tightening it and it stripped I ended up breaking the bolt that is welded on to get the handle off. The handle was loose. Strong, we'll made, and even takes an edge great! The actual blade is great. I feel like a beast swinging it around. I was surprised with how well it could cut through flesh, bone, animals, and even the shell of a turtoise. It surprised me that it was so inexpensive because it looked to be an honest forged blade. !! The only thing I noticed I didn't like was the leather wrap on the handle, it doesn't stay in place for too long. Its awesome to show off and put on display, but watch what you try to cut! I swing it around a lot, I bash it into a post a lot (replaced the handle a long time ago by wrappign the full tang with chord, ductape, chord, ductape, chord and then medical tape it's crude, but the tang is more than long enough to be the handle) If mine ever breaks, I'm totally getting another one! but over all cool sword only problem was loose wrapping on handle note to ad a lot lighter than expected swings easy one handed it is a cool sword. It's a tough and already rugged looking sword so wear and tear isn't something that would ever have to be a concerne, other than sharpening of course. I have seen knives come and go. Each piece of the guard is made of two pieces of metal that snap together. 4.5 a truly great piece. Neither the guard, nor the pommel are well secured. However this is one bad**s monster. 161.81, 248.94 I wouldn't call it that, it is slightly less wide than where the blade goes through the hilt but that is of necessity due to the handle design. Then I drilled holes and milled out the spaces in between so that I had cut out a space in each guard for the tang to fit through. Looks great on wall. everything feels, looks, and is solid..the picture does not give the blade itself justice, all over the sword there are little dents and nicks to give it a rugged look along with the wicked curve of the blade. I bought it to change it up some, polished half the blade for the 2 tone look I love. it is awesome the best sword for cutting almost anything. Great buy. I wanted a 'beater' sword, and so far looks like this one will fit the bill nicely.
